Celebrations:
1. We had a practice lock down today and everyone did a great job of knowing what to do! We were given a compliment by the officer who came in and checked on our classroom.
2. As part of our learning in preparation for Hats off! for Mental Health, we talked about finding things that bring us joy and that help us to be in the green zone. Mr. Kelly showed us how to make hats from newspapers and then we collaged on images and words that showed our individual ways we obtain good mental health.
Tomorrow we are allowed to wear a hat in school for the whole day to symbolize the importance of taking care of our body, mind and spirit to create good mental health. We are reminded that all feelings are OK and a part of being human and that if we need help we should not be afraid to talk to someone who could help us out. Hats will be worn as a sign of respect and this is different than "fun hat" wearing days.
Reminders:
Hat for tomorrow.
No new Words Their Way today but all students will receive them tomorrow! Tests from last week will be sent home tomorrow as well.
