Activities and Assignments Today - please review with your child this evening:

1.  We listened to Mr. Kelly read Chapter 2 of Owls in the Family.  We discussed his wonderful ability to read aloud so that we were drawn in to his reading.  There is an assignment in Google Classroom that is due on Friday.  Please review the instructions with your child so they can complete it and post on Iris for Friday!

2.  Some book clubs met with Mr. Kelly and Mrs. Zwack today and they have a chapter to read and a response to write in their Reader's Toolkit.  We will meet with other groups throughout the week.

3.  In Math we started our new investigation into MEASUREMENT!!  Students were asked to check around the house for "things they could measure" and to list them on a blank page in their green duo tang. There is no assignment other than having at least 6 items on that web.

4.  In writing today we discussed how a writer plans a fiction story. We read The Invisible Boy as an anchor book and worked together to deconstruct what the author's plan may have been.  

5.  We started our new science unit on Testing Materials and Design today.  We started talking about engineers and watched Rosie Revere, Engineer before brainstorming ideas on our page together.

REMINDERS:

Please ensure your child has a printed copy of the schedule and the meeting codes.  We are trying to build independence in having them listen to our directions and to use the schedule and the clock on their device for getting i to Google Meets at the appropriate time.
