Tuesday May 11 - Online

 Tuesday May 11 - Online

Thank you to everyone for your patience with Mr. Kelly and Mrs. Zwack and with the technology glitches and schedule changes.  We truly appreciate your understanding as we work through each day.

This morning we had music with Mrs. Coulsen!  We are investigating a famous composer.  Mrs. Zwack thought that meant the "old composers" but apparently the options were for those composers old and new!!

In math we read Measuring Penny and learned about many ways we can measure!  Our first guesses on our webs from yesterday were mostly "linear" measurements. Today we discovered so many other ways things can be measured.  Your task to finish today is to add, in a different colour, other things in your house that can be measured.  Mr. Kelly's example is below.

Think about:  time,   temperature,   capacity,   mass,  etc.

After lunch we did PE and then, instead of French and writing, we had a quick change of plans.  It was our day for our second Just Like Me presentation.  Thank you to Sasha for sharing so many important lessons with us about being respectful and kind to people with disabilities.  They are "people first" just like us.

In Inquiry, we discussed MATERIALS and watched the video below.  Students were to then list the materials discussed:  stone, rubber, glass, wood, fabric, metal, and plastic.  Students are to make a list of each material and three examples of things made from these materials for tomorrow!

Reminders

Please check with your child to ensure that today's work has been completed.

Keep working on Read Aloud video to post to Iris.  There are directions for posting to Iris in Google Classroom.  The video should NOT exceed 5 minutes.  It is just a sample and longer videos may not load.

Keep practicing your Words Their Way!

When there are designated "breaks" please ensure your child is logged out of their Google Meet and that they get some time away from the computer.  Teachers are also taking a break from the screen at that time.  We are finding that many kiddos are popping right back into the meet!
