Friday September 4

We did it!!  What a great first week we have had under some very trying circumstances.  Big hugs to all of our amazing students and parents who have worked so hard to be flexible and patient and kind!

Highlights of the Day

1.  We did a math activity today and all of our students did an amazing job!  They were able to represent their choice of number in many mathematical ways.  We were amazed at how neat and organized their work was on their personal whiteboards.

2.  We started Read to Self - a very important component of our Daily 5 routine.  Student comments about the importance of reading to yourself:

"Increases your vocabulary,"  said Ayoub.

"It makes you a better writer," declared Katie.

"It builds stamina," Hennessey commented.

"It makes you more independent," explained Annika.

Important Updates

  • NO school on Monday as it is a long weekend!  Enjoy some time to relax and refresh and we will see you on Tuesday!
  • If you wish, you may send a fanny pack (around the waist) with your child to store their mask during mask breaks and while eating.  The only thing allowed in the pack will be their personal mask to maintain cleanliness and to contain germs.  If your child has their own small container of sanitizer it can also be kept there for easy access.

Something to Talk About

Share your First Week Reflection with your parents.  Tell them about the what activity you most enjoyed and why.

What are you looking forward to next week?
