Literacy

Today we discussed the idea of Theme in a story as a continuation of our work yesterday.  Each child was to read one of 4 stories assigned in Epic Books.  After reading/listening to the story of their choice, there is a doc in the Google Classroom where they are to answer some specific questions about their book, all relating to Theme.  Please ensure you add at least one buddy sentence to explain your thinking and use details from the story.

Math

Grade 3 students worked on solving division through making groups of equal sizes.  Please see lesson in Google Classroom for a video and the questions we worked on.  There are 5 problems altogether that need to be finished.  For each question, you need to show a picture and write the division sentence to match.

Grade 4 students worked on breaking down longer division questions into smaller sharing steps to better understand the algorithm.  There is no assignment beyond the work they did in the Google Meet.

Reminders:

Please keep practising your words for WTW.  We will do our quizzes on Tuesday when we return.

We are thinking that everyone will be back at school on Tuesday following the PD Day on Monday.  We will resume our plans for Coulee school with a few modifications.  We will send an email about this on the weekend.

We will be doing our full day and a drop off at the bottom of the Coulee first thing on Thursday morning next week.  Please let us know if you are unable to drop your child there between 8:20 and 8:30ish.
