Monday April 26
Please bring in all work completed on paper (green duo-tang) to school tomorrow.
First day of Coulee School is tomorrow, Tuesday April 27!
During this week, we will be outside the whole day. We will be doing a lot of walking and activities. Your child we need to come prepared each and every day, as regardless of the weather we will be out and about.
Supplies:
- Water bottle full of water
- Sunscreen
- Kleenex
- Extra masks
- Extra socks
- metal spoon (label please!) for small digging activity
- Small plastic bag for any wet items
- Comfortable clothing
- Layers for all weather
- Easy and "garbageless" snacks and lunches - all wrappers will be sent back home in order to "leave no trace" in the coulee.
- Hat
- Gloves (thin)
- Good walking/trekking shoes or rubber boots (there are puddles, mud and the small stream to cross!
- Rain pants - we will be sitting on the ground
Dressing appropriately for the Coulee is a problem we are consistently having. Regardless of your child’s desire, please make sure that they leave the house and come to school with the appropriate equipment listed here. We will keep you updated on anything that comes up with your child’s equipment.
On Thursday, April 29th, we are hoping to have all students dropped off at the A&W parking lot at this location: https://goo.gl/maps/WzFgupLWHtuvtnZb8(51°06'29.1"N 114°14'22.9"W) between 8:20-8:30 am. We know that some of our students go to STEM in the mornings, but we are hopeful that you can adjust your schedule for this one morning. We are planning on exploring the lower part of the Coulee and then walking back through the Coulee to be back at school for the end of the day.
If this drop off will be a large issue, please email Mrs. Zwack, ajzwack@cbe.ab.ca, by Tuesday April 27 so we can find a way to help. If we don’t hear from you by then, we will assume this works for you.
We are really looking forward to Coulee School and getting outside to explore and have some fun!
