Celebrations

Today was an exciting day for all of us in the Zwack-Kelly class!  We were excited about a new seating arrangement and getting to connect with new friends.  It was refreshing to see and interact with some new workmates.

We had a very special time this afternoon during our Rocks and Minerals Inquiry time.  We would like to thank Mr. Malekani, Darius' father, who works at the University of Calgary.  He generously sent in some rock samples and we were able to explore them like a geologist would!  The best surprise was the bag of small rock samples that each child was given to take home.  Our budding geologists can all add to or begin their rock collections!

Something to talk about:  Today is International Women's Day and we discussed the "right" to equality as connected to our study of Human Rights.  Students were asked to think of women in their lives that they admired and to explain why.  Please see the video below that we had shown in class if you are interested.

Reminders:

Thursday afternoon and Friday are Parent Teacher Interviews!  No school on those days.

No new words this week for Words Their Way.  New groups will begin next week!
