Happy Groundhog Day!

Highlights of the Day:

1) We learned more about fractions. Check out our fraction activities in google classroom.

2) The grade 3's learned about alliterations. Then we wrote some.

3) The grade 4's had French.

4) We watched a video about the rock cycle.

Alteration:

Sawyer the snake sat still for six hours straight.

                                                            Elliott (Grade 3)
Sense Poetry

Dirt Biking

It is a special technique.
It tastes like dirt.
It sounds like a roaring bear.
It smells like gas.
It looks like a bomb blew up.
I feel like I am free.

                                     Grayson (Grade 4)
Art

Art is a creative mindset swirling around in your head.
It tastes like emotions going from your head to your brush.
It sounds like paint splattering around the room.
It smells like chemicals for paint floating in the air.
It feels like you can do it.

                                                                Paige (Grade 4)

We sometimes watch videos from Pete Sheeler. He is a Canadian watercolour artist who lives in Ontario. His work is beautiful and very calming. His videos are short and breath taking. The images appear to grow from the paper. Many of the students enjoy watching him work. There is link to one of his videos below.

Something to talk about:

Students, talk to your parents about the different parts of a number fraction. What the top digit called? What is the bottom digit called?

Reminders:

Grade four students your Young Writers Conference forms are due tomorrow.
